Car Key Spy Camera This small imitation car key fob hides a covert spy camera which captures audio and video when you press the button (simple two button operation. Read the reviews when you follow the link – this is a surprisingly powerful piece of kit for the cost. Having used one, the only problem I had was getting it to point accurately at what I was trying to video. Spy useage perhaps limited (hard to leave in position whilst you’re not there), potential for discreet filming immense. The length of recording time is limited by the battery (about 2 hours) and then by the size of the micro SD card (not included) that you add to it. A 2GB card should suffice.
Pros – good picture quality, easy to use
Cons – getting it to point at what you want to record

Small Spy Clock Camera Recorder Leave this small alarm clock in any room, and when it detects movement it will start recording. It records to a memory card, to play back recordings either connect the clock to your computer with the USB lead supplied or remove the SD card and plug that into your computer. Playback of recordings is easy. The picture quality is OK, the battery life is the limiting factor – about 12 hours of recording – but if there is not too much going on where you deploy it it could cover a few days for you. SD card not included.
Pros – astoundingly low price, motion activated, true spy cam
Cons – perhaps some set up issues, see reviews on link, but seller provides support

Smiley Badge Spy Camera TrackerShack were the first spy shop in the UK to import and sell these. We loved the idea, loved the picture quality, but had to stop selling them as one in four would fail our pre-sale checks. You cannot tell there is a camera in this badge. I felt slightly self conscious wearing it, but I’m not really a badge person. Its easier to get this to point at what you want to film than the car key spy camera above. Easy enough to use. We took one of these into our local pub one night and everyone was fascinated by it!
Pros – good picture quality
Cons – make sure you test it when you get – ask for replacement if faulty

Wireless Spy Camera Kit This kit contains all you need to transmit video from a mini spy camera in one place to a wireless receiver connected to a TV in another place. Its great fun devising hiding places for the camera, and with a little thought they can be deployed perfectly whilst still being powered by the mains. The drawback with these kits is the short tranmission range. I have managed 70 metres in perfect line of sight conditions, but with typical installations be prepared for this to at least halve.
Pros – interesting spy kit, wireless transmission from a covert camera
Cons – we wish the law allowed these to have a greater range
